About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
Charity and Mercy Association (CMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering vulnerable populations across Africa, regardless of race, region, or religion. Founded on the principles of compassion and service, CMA has been a beacon of hope for the underprivileged since its inception. Our journey began with the development of this initiative in 2010, with active implementation starting in 2014. After years of groundwork, our name and mission were publicly recognized in 2018, and in October 2021, we obtained formal authorization under law N° 90/053 of December 1990.
Mission and Vision
CMA is committed to combating the virus of hunger, a silent killer that claims the lives of approximately 8,000 children daily. We believe that the « vaccine » against this virus is food, and our mission is to provide this essential resource to those in need. We aim to prioritize the fight against famine, raise awareness about its devastating impact, and drive a collective effort to save lives.
Our Work
CMA operates with a special focus on Cameroon and other African regions, where we have established a strong presence through various humanitarian efforts:
Orphan Support: We provide continuous support to orphans and vulnerable children, ensuring their access to education, healthcare, and basic necessities. In Bamenda, where our headquarters are located, we have taken full responsibility for 33 individuals, including elderly women, young girls, and children affected by the ongoing crisis in the North-West region of Cameroon.
Widow Assistance: We extend our support to widows, offering financial aid, food supplies, and guidance to help them regain independence and stability.
Disaster Relief: CMA responds to emergencies by providing critical supplies to victims of natural disasters, such as the April 2023 landslide in Buea, Cameroon.
Community Engagement: We have established connections and provided assistance to various communities, including social services in Douala, orphanages, centers for the blind, and leprosy centers. Our efforts have expanded across borders to countries like the Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea, where we have made significant contributions to local orphanages and social initiatives.
Future Goals
We continuously strive to expand our reach and impact. Our future objectives include the establishment of new branches in underserved regions, enhancing our support systems, and creating sustainable solutions to empower communities. We are also deeply committed to nurturing self-sufficiency among those we support, encouraging them to pursue education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
CMA’s Approach
Our approach is hands-on, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that every individual deserves dignity and the chance to live a fulfilling life. We work tirelessly to provide not just immediate relief but also long-term solutions that help people rebuild their lives.
Join us in our mission to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we can fight hunger, restore hope, and create a brighter future for all.
